Background: Staphylococcus aureus the most common bacterial pathogens in human body. Resistance of Staphylococcus aureus to antibiotics increasing, thus plant metabolite is necessary for the alternatives treatment. Morinda citrifolia L fruit is alleged that has antimicrobial effects as containing several active substances, which works by damaging the cell wall, cytoplasmic membrane and inhibits the synthesis protein on ribosomes. Objective: This study was intended to prove the antimicrobial effects of extracts fruit Morinda citrifolia L against Staphylococcus aureus. Methods: This study employed the “True Experiments Post Test Only Control Group Design”. The method used was tube dilutions containing different concentration of noni fruit extract; 100%, 50%, 25%, 12.5%, 6.25%, 3.125%, 1.56%, 0.78% and two controls (material and germ controls) . Data obtained were analyzed by using one­way ANOVA, regression and correlation .Results: The concentration of Minimal Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) awas determine in 6.25%. Minimal Bactericidal Concentration (MBC) 12.5%. The results will show a significant differences between treatments (p = 0000). Higher concentration of extracts Morinda citrifolia L fruit can reduce coloni number of staphylococcus aureus (p<0.01; r=­0.909). Morinda citrifolia L concentration of fruit extracts affect the reduction of Staphylococcus aureus bacterial colonies R2 = 82.6%. the higher Morinda citrifolia wider ability to make inhibisi zone (r=0,9111; p=0,000<0,01) Conclusions : Morinda citrifolia L fruit extracts have antimicrobial effects on the growth of Staphylococcus aureus.
