Abstract

This design aims to produce a design design and detail dimensions of Automatic Cashew Nut Skin shelling which is strong, safe and can reduce damage to cashew during stripping. The process of designing Automatic Cashew Nut Shelling is carried out by stages, namely planning and explanation of the functions of the main parts, planning the concept of design drawings, and technical analysis including analysis of force, power, and torque stresses that occur on the shaft and pulleys. The driving energy of Automatic Cashew nut shelling is planned to use an electric motor with a power of 2 hp with a motor speed of 2400 rpm. The results of the design produced a Cashew Nut Skin Sheliing with a capacity of 20 kg / hour. The transmission system uses a V-belt with a drive pulley diameter of 60 mm and pulleys that are moved 170 mm, belt speed 7.537 m / s, belt length 681.26 mm, shaft diameter 15 mm with JIS G 4051 carbon steel material, planned power of 2.25 kW. The pyramid-shaped hopper is stuck with a volume of 2575000 mm^2, and the force of pressure applied to stripping cashew 1230 N/m^2.
