Abstract

Irrigation is the application of water resources utilization used in agricultural sector. A good irrigation system can supply the required amount of water supply to be distributed through irrigation canals. In irrigated area of Jatimlerek, with an area of 2050 hectares, there were a number of problems including the application of cropping patterns was not in accordance with the plan. Improper cropping patterns can be caused by insufficient source of water for plant, thus affecting mediocre performancel level of agricultural productivity. To increase the value of agricultural productivity, optimization of cropping patterns was carried out by considering the factors affecting it. Linear programming is one of the optimization methods used in this study. The results of optimization analysis using linear programming obtained optimal results by applying Alternative cropping patterns 1. In alternative 1 was applied cropping patterns of Rice/Maize – Rice/Maize – Rice/Maize in early season of November 1. The profits earned was IDR 32,570,627,627.50 with an area of 641 Ha planted with rice and Maize (1409 Ha) during rainy season, for dry season 1 the area planted with rice was 258 Ha and Maize (1792 Ha), and for dry season 2 rice was 8 Ha and Maize (997 Ha). With these results, the area of cropping intensity was 249%.
