Abstract

Based on the needs analysis conducted at SDN Bendosari 03 on January 3, 2019, it was found that in the learning process in grade IV of SDN Bendosari 03, students stated that they did not like mathematics for a variety of reasons, one of them considered complicated and boring mathematics. The teacher only uses lecture methods and assignments to explain the material, so students need rounding Chessboard learning media for math lessons for rounding material. This study aims to: 1) describe the development of Rounding Chessboard media products for learning grade IV rounding material in Primary Schools, 2 ) Knowing the attractiveness of Rounding Chessboard media for rounding grade IV elementary school material. This study uses the ADDIE model which has five stages. The study was conducted in class IV SDN Bendosari 03, with 25 students. The study was conducted in the second semester on June 21, 2019 at Bendosari SDN 03. The data obtained will then be processed into two types, namely quantitative and qualitative. Quantitative data is to determine the attractiveness and validity of the media, while qualitative data to infer the data obtained. The results showed that: (1) after the researchers carried out the development of Rounding Chessboard media through the validation of media experts and material experts, the results were that the media could be tested without revision. This can be indicated by the acquisition of a percentage of media experts at 91.6%. The percentage of material experts is 87.5%. (2) Using Rounding Chessboard media gets a very good response to users, namely the results of the fourth grade teacher's response questionnaire obtained a percentage of 88.3% and student questionnaire responses obtained a percentage of 91% in SDN Bendosari 03. It is recommended to be used as a means of teaching and learning in the hope of supporting the success of learning.
