Abstract

The role of parent very important in the formation of student character, so Lowokwaru 3 Elementary School chooses community-based PPK as a solution, but in reality community-based PPK has several problems. This study aims to determine : (1) community-based PPK planning caring for the environment in Malang Lowokwaru 3 Elementary School, (2) implementing community-based PPK caring for the environment in Malang Lowokwaru 3 Elementary School, and (3) the approach used in community-based PPK implementation. At Lowokwaru 3 Elementary School Malang. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. Primary data sources come from principals, teachers and parent. While secondary data is taken from the results of observations and documents. This research was conductes in the second semester of the 2018/2019 academic year on May 1 to 20 June 2019. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and document to obtain data on community-based PPK analysis to care for the environment at Lowokwaru 3 Elementary School Malang. The results of this study indicate that. (1) Community-based PPK planning that cares about the environment includes arranging daily and weekly schedules, forming communities, compiling community regulations and designing community activities. (2) The implementation of community-based PPK caring for the environment at Lowokwaru 3 Elementary School Malang began to be implemented in 2017, community-based PPK caring for the environment aims ti collaborate with parents to provide character education to students related to mutual cooperation and at the same time strengthen the role of parents in educate student character. (3) The approach used in implementing community-based PPK caring for the environment is to strengthen the role of parents in student character education, empowering environmental potential as a source of learning and synergizing PPK implementation with various community programs.
