Abstract

Esktrakurikuler activities a role in shaping the character of students in the academic and non-academic fields. This potential development aims to explore the potential that exists so that students are able to be independent, creative and can work together and be skilled in their fields, especially dance. The purpose of this study (1) Describe the implementation of traditional dance extracurricular activities in shaping the character of students at Elementary School Pamotan 6 Malang Regency (2) What explain characters are formed in the implementation of extracurricular activities at Pamotan Elementary School 6 Malang Regency (3) Explain the obstacles faced by trainers in formation of student character in the field of traditional dance at Elementary School Pamotan 6 Malang Regency. This study uses a descriptive type of research with a qualitative approach, the study was conducted at Elementary School Pamotan 6 JL. Hasyim Ashari Sumberayu Pamotan Dampit Malang Regency. The selected data sources are primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through three stages including (1) Data reduction, (2) Exposure to data, (3) Conclusions. The results of this study are that students get motivation and guidance in character building, such as working together with helping friends who have not been able to, also some students expressed their desire to preserve traditional dance in Indonesia. The solution to this research is by introducing dance through SBDP subjects to increase students' interest in learning traditional dance. Providing singing/ice breaking on the sidelines of the process of dancing. Trying to give input to the Principal to provide Sampur shawl facilities. Provide input to students by saving money every time a training activity is held to buy a sampur/shawl.
