Abstract

Protein content in feed is one very important aspect in the success of aquaculture, because protein acts as a building material for shrimp, affecting the growth, reproduction, and health of shrimp. The purpose of this study was to determine the growth of vaname shrimp(Litopenaeus vannamei) by feeding different protein levels. The method used is experimental growth parameters and water quality in intensive ponds L. vannamei. Growth parameter data include the value of MBW (Mean Body Weight), SGR ( Specific Growth Rate), FCR (Food Conversion Ratio), and SR ( Survival Rate). The treatments tested were feeding with different protein levels, namely (A) protein feed (30%) and (B) protein feed (35%). The study used the independent sample t-test method with 2 treatments and three replicates, 60 days of maintenance. The values obtained during the study were, MBW in treatment (A) 7.06 g and treatment (B) 6.06 g, while the SGR value of treatment (A) 11.66 g, and treatment (B) 11.33gr. FCR value of treatment (A) 1.68 kg and treatment (B) 1.73 kg. SR value of treatment (A) 83.29%, and treatment (B) 84.88%. The results showed that feeding with different protein levels did not significantly affect the growth of vaname shrimp(p<0.05). The range of quality parameters during maintenance is still in the range that can be tolerated vaname shrimp.
