Abstract

The study aims to analyse wages, population growth, and economic growth of the unemployment rate in southeast Asia. The data used in this study was secondary data in 2008-2017. The analytical tools used are multiple linear regression with the data panel method with hypothesis testing i.e. F test, T test, and coefficient of determination of R2. The software used in this research analysis is Eviews 10. The results showed that jointly wages, population growth, and economic growth have affected the unemployment rate in southeast Asia with a probability value of 0.0000. While wages are individually influential and significant to the unemployment rate, with a regression coefficient value of-0.110864 and probability values of significance 0.0062 < 0.05. Population growth has a positive and significant effect on the unemployment rate, with a regression coefficient value of 0.363451 and probability values of significance 0.0151 < 0.05. Economic growth has a negative and insignificant effect on the unemployment rate, with a regression coefficient value of-0.032246 and a probability value of significance 0.3655 < 0.05.
