Abstract

As a country that has high rainfall, Indonesia is very vulnerable to floods. The flood phenomenon is indeed unavoidable, but to reduce the impact of flooding can be overcome by making dams or reservoirs equipped with sluice gates. Dams are transverse river buildings that function to raise the river's water level. Dams are also equipped with sluice gates which can be operated open and close in stages or continuously for purposes as needed. To regulate the discharge that will flow out of the dam there are several mechanical ways to move or open the floodgates. The drive system uses a comparison of teeth to open or lift. In addition to using gears, you can use a rope that is driven by a motor with a crane system. The calculation results obtained are, Rope diameter: d = 23.7 mm, Pulleys diameter = 474 mm, Drum Diameter = 300 mm, Lifting speed is 0.016 m / s.
