Abstract

Background: Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is the myocardial necrosis caused by inadequate blood supply obtained by involving acute blockages in the coronary arteries. Rupture of atheroma plaques in the coronary arteries which are then followed arrives, thrombosis, vasoconstriction, inflammatory reactions, and distal microembolism are factors that are largely the cause of blockage in the coronary arteries. Fondaparinux is an anticoagulant therapy in patients with acute myocardial infarction to prevent thrombus formation and clot formation by indirectly inhibiting factor Xa activity through its interaction with antithrombin. Objective: To fine out the pattern of Fondaparinux uses in patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction. Includes dosage, route, frequency and duration of therapy. Method: Retrospective observation in patients with acute myocardial infarction in RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar period January 2016 - August 2018. Results and conclusions: There is one single pattern and one combination pattern of using Fondaparinux in 23 patients with acute myocardial infarction. The most usage patterns are Fondaparinux 2.5 mg single (1x2.5 mg / 0.5 ml) SC found in (22 patients) 96% and the use of a combination of two namely Fondaparinux 2.5 mg (1x2.5 mg / 0.5 ml) SC + warfarin (1x5mg) PO is present in (1 patient) 4% and the switch therapy pattern is Enoxaparin 60 mg (2x60 mg / 0.6ml) SC to Fondaparinux 2.5 mg (1x2.5 mg / 0.5 ml) SC is used in ( 1 patient).
