Abstract

This paper aims to explain the electrical voltage variations and immersion time against electroplating on A36 steel and find out how much the voltage and immersion time which is effective to electroplating process. The material which used in this study is low carbon steel, A36, sized 40 mm x 30 mm x 2 mm as base metal or cathode and copper as its coating or anode. The electroplating process used 9 volt and 12 volt voltage of variations, while time variation electroplating uses 450, 600, 750, 900 seconds. The result of this study is optimal coating rate occurred at 750 seconds using 12 volt coating voltage. While the coating result which looks most prevalent occurred at 600 seconds using 12 volt.
