Abstract

TAD (Student Teams-Achievement Division) is effective to increase studentsmotivation, because it is concerned with awarding as a form of reinforcement of what has beendone by the students. Mind Mapping is method for managing information thoroughly. MindMapping can be used for storing information, organizing information, making priorities, learningto understand information in context, reviewing a learning material, remembering completeinformation, based on the explanation, to answer the problem of concept comprehension, theresearchers integrates STAD (Student Teams-Achievement Division) with mind mapping. Thisresearch aims to: (1) improving student learning motivation in science of the students (2)increase student understanding of the concept of reproduction system. Classroom ActionResearch based on Lesson Study is using two cycles. Based on the results of STADapplication combined with Mind mapping can improve students’ learning motivation, withdetails attention increased to (1.2%), relevance increased to (3.65%), confidence increased to(5.23%), and satisfaction increased to (4.36%). Based on the application of STAD combinedwith Mind mapping, it was proven to improve the understanding of the concept, with detailsof Cycle I: 75.5 and Cycle II: 80 with an increase of 5.1.
