Abstract

Background : Preeklampsia is the hypertension that occurs in pregnancy is characterized by an increase in blood pressure ≥ 140 mmHg and proteinuria ≥ 300 mg/24 hours that appeared after the first 20 weeks of pregnancy. In patients preeklampsia is also a common complications such as seizures, HELLP syndrome and problems affecting the condition of the baby that caused a baby with mother preeklampsia sufferers can be slow growing in the womb. This happens because in patients preeklampsia can reduce the amount of nutrients and oxygen from the mother to the baby. On the control of hypertension in patients preeklampsia are recommended as the first line is metildopa the agonis α2-adrenergic, this medication is safe to use and has no negative side effects on hemodialysis uteroplasenta. Based on some research stating that metildopa is a safe antihipertensi for the control of hypertension in patients preeklampsia. Objective : A study to determine the pattern of methyldopa use in preeclamptic patients. Includes doses, routes, frequency of administration and duration of therapy at General Hospital os Sidoarjo from January – December 2018 Method : Retrospective observation in pregnant women with preeclampsia at general hospital of sidoarjo from January – December 2018 Results and Conclusion : Pattern of single metildopa use in 33 patients (53%) and combination of two in 29 patients (47%), the single most common use of methyldopa (3x500mg) p.o as many as 30 patients (91%). Using a combination of methyldopa (3x500mg) p.o + nifedipine (3x10mg) p.o as many as 26 patients (91%), Use of methyldopa switch (3x500mg) p.o + nifedipine (3x10mg) p.o in methyldopa switch (3x500mg) p.o in 23 patients (88%).
