Abstract

This study aims to describe students' mathematics learning motivation. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach. The data sources were 2017 class students and 2018 students. Data was obtained through filling out questionnaire sheets to find out the categories of student learning motivation with 24 items of instrument items. The measurement of each statement uses a Likert scale, namely: 1) strongly disagree; 2) disagree; 3) doubt; 4) agree, and 5) strongly agree. Learning motivation is very influential on student behavior. The results showed that the mathematics learning motivation analyzed by the average indicator of the intrinsic orientation of 4,11 was categorized very good, the purpose of extrinsic orientation was 3,97 categorized as good, the task value of 4,1 was categorized very good, the control of learning for learning was 3, 95 is categorized as good, self-confidence of 4.16 is categorized as very good, and the level of anxiety of 4,35 is categorized very good. The average overall indicator of learning motivation which is equal to 4,11 is included in the category very good.
