Abstract

Background: Agility is an ability that a person has in changing the direction of the body quickly and precisely when moving, and without causing a loss of balance. The lack of developmental movements, especially agility in a child can affect their movement skills, such as walking, running and jumping. The training method that can improve agility is shuttle run and bounce and catch reaction ball. Objective: To determine the effect of the combination of shuttle run and bounce and catch reaction ball on increasing agility at the age of 10-12 years at MI Ma'arif Pademonegoro. Research Methods: The study design used a pre-experimental method using one group pretest-posttest. The respondents of the study were 39 students who were given interventions with a combination of shuttle run and bounce and reaction ball catch. Age of respondents ranged from 10-12 years. The study was conducted from February 4, 2019 to February 26, 2019. The instrument of this study used the Illinois Agility Test. Results: The results of the study using the Wilcoxon test obtained a significant value of 0,000 (P <0.05), it can be concluded that H1 was accepted. The results showed an increase in agility with a mean value of 22.7441 to 21.5067. Conclusion: There is an effect of combination of shuttle run and bounce and catch reaction ball on increasing agility at the age of 10-12 year in MI Ma’arif Pademonegoro.
