Abstract
This research entitled “The Analysis of Economic Growth and Superior Sector in Regency of Bima, Province of Western and South East Island (NTB)”. This research is a study to know about the economic growth and superior sector in the Regency of Bima from 2003-2007. The purpose of this research is knowing the rate of economic growth happened, whether it is positive or negative enhancement. In addition to that is knowing about the rate of economic growth and also knowing about the superior sector and its subdivision in the Regency of Bima. The analysis tool used in this research is the analysis tool of Economic Growth. This tool is aimed to analyze the rate of economic growth in the Regency of Bima. Another tool used is Location Quotient (LQ). This tool is used to measure the superior sector and its subdivision (U) or non-superior (NU) in the Regency of Bima. The removal of data through the available document in the Statistic Center of Region in Bima. Afterwards, the data was analyzed by using LQ analysis and Economic Growth analysis. This analysis is used to know about the potential and superiority of a region by analysing each sector in the Regency of Bima. Thereby, it can be known about the rate of economic growth. Based on the summary of this research above, it can give implication as follows: First, the result of this research shows that there is a positive economic growth in Bima, and it can be shown from the average growth of each sector in Bima. Secondly, the result of this research is that the Regency of Bima has a certifiable superior sector and its subdivision to help the economic development in Bima.
