Abstract

A lesson plan is a teaching outline of the important points of a lesson arranged in the order in which they are to be presented; it may include objectives, points to be made, questions to ask, references to material, assignments, and evaluation methods or tools. A lesson plan is the design of a lesson outlining what will be done. Besides, it is also an organization of instruction for a particular lesson or period. The purposes of this study were to know the problems faced by English Teacher and the solution of the problems in implementing lesson plan done by English Teachers at MTs Persiapan Negeri Batu. In this study, the researcher used the descriptive research. In collecting the data, three types of instrument were used including interview, observation, and document. The data of the study were analysed by using the procedures such as developing research instruments, analysing the data, and taking conclusion. The result of this study, English Teachers had different problems in implementing the lesson plan. English Teacher (A) had a problem in teaching strategy. The Teacher got difficulties in teaching the material because some students were not fluent in pronouncing daily expressions relating to dialog. The solution taken by the English Teacher was by asking students to practice more and more the appropriate pronunciation of each word. English Teacher (B) had a problem in teaching reading. Some students got difficulties to identify time relating to the function of PM and AM in daily activities. The solution taken by the English Teacher was by asking students to make their daily activities schedule from getting up till going to sleep. English Teacher (C) had a problem in teaching listening. Almost all students did not understand what the content of the script instructed. The solution taken by the English teacher was by asking students to memorize the difficult words of the script presented in the text.
