Abstract

Corrosion is one of the causes of deterioration in the quality of metal materials with the degradation process and will experience loss of function, so that the metal can no longer be used as it should be. In the research that has been done on the results of A36 steel welding with variations in weld currents 40 A, 50 A, 60 A, and 70 A using H2SO4 corrosion media to determine the effect of welding current variations on the corrosion rate of steel A36 welding with H2SO4 corrosive media. The results showed that the highest corrosion rate was found in the specimens of welding with a current of 40A with a value of 976,1911 mpy, and the lowest results were found in specimens of welding with a current of 70A with a value of 881,2654 mpy.
