Abstract

Background: The use of computers for long periods of time with poor ergonomics will cause problems in the scalp levator muscle. this can disrupt a person's functional abilities. Myofascial release technique and contract relax stretching are one of the interventions to deal with myofascial trigger points. Aim: This study aims to compare the effect of myofascial release technique with contract relax stretching on the functional ability of myofascial trigger point levator muscle, as well as members of the City Probolinggo Police. Research Method: The design of this study is Quasi Experiment Pretest and Posttest Two Group Design. The respondents in this study were 30 members of the Probolinggo City police station officers with a purposive sampling technique using the NDI (Neck Disability Index) functional ability measurement scale. Result: Paired T-Test results obtained probability values (0,000 <0,05), then H1 is accepted. As for the results of the Independent T-Test, the probability value (0.886> 0.05) is obtained, so that it can be concluded that H1 is rejected. Conclusion: There is no comparison of the effect of myofascial release technique with contract relax stretching on the functional ability of myofascial trigger point levator, as well as members of the City Probolinggo Police.
