Abstract

Propaganda is always closely related to information manipulation that is supported to influence public opinion. In the process, propaganda uses film as a tool to win the public. This success can be seen from the role of the film itself as a media that is very effective in injecting messages both good and bad messages in accordance with what is threatened by propagandists. Michael Bay made a 13-hour film: The Secret Warriors of Benghazi that featured scenes of war between members of the CIA GRS security team against Anshar Al-Sharia rebel forces accessing in the Libyan city of Benghazi. Based on background of the studies, the problem of the study is what the meaning of war propaganda used in the 13 Hours film: Benghazi's secret warrior from dialog, gesture and properties aspects. The research method in this study is descriptive qualitative. Researcher uses primary data and secondary data to find out the research problem. From the discussion, the results of the research is American war propaganda in the military capabilities which break the myth towards the using of advanced weapons. Then the second is in this film contains the heroism which give a connotation that United States citizens willing to risk their lives for fellow American citizens.
