Abstract

In 21st century, science learning claim students to develop their ability in asking question, finding the answer, understanding teh answer, accomplish the answer about “what”, “why”, and “how” phenomenon happens or even environment characteristics using a systematical way (Scientific Method). Biological scope claims the students to study through the application of scientific method. In this scientific material method the aspect of scientific approach as which consist of 5M (Observing, Questioning, Associating, Experimenting, Communicating) are integrated by investigating or experimenting activity involving creativity process which can make those students think more critically. One of many ways to optimalize the students critical thinking and creativity process is upgrading material learning in order to increase teaching and learning quality in more efective and efficient way in accordance with the target competence. The purpose of this study is producing Biological Scope Teaching Material Book and knowing validity and effectivity basedon scientific approach, critical thinking and craetivity process for X grade Senior High School. This study used Reasearch and Development Model by Borg and Gall (1983) which was modified by Sukmadinata (2005) into 3 steps: preliminary study, development model and experiment model. In order to know the effectivity thee writer gave questionnaire, pretest and postest. The result of this study is a well tested and revised material book from experts and students. Based on feasibility test from material and media experts and also students, this material book is feasible and effective to use in teaching learning process. Based on classroom experiment, Statistical test using paired t-test with significance level α = 0,05. The result of SPSS calculation is P < 0,05 which means that there is a significant difference meaning score in pretest and postest, in before and after using teaching material book in the scope of Biology.
