Abstract

Learning process of biology science in SMP Muhammadiyah 9 Junior High of Sugio Lamongan showed that students activity in learning still low. In indirect way, it influenced the result that less than SKBM, that was 65. Lack of responds by students to the teacher, asking or responding when the teaching and learning existed. The condition made research done with learning application of TPS type, that was cooperative learning method which was designed to influence interaction pattern with PBMP pattern, that was learning which became the major character of thinking development through question. The research was classroom action research, the research done in two cycles, consisted of two meeting and one post-test. Success indicator of action could be seen from students activity from cycle I and cycle II as the result of the application of TPS type with PBMP pattern. Place and time was done in Monday, May 3rd 2010 – May 31st 2010 at SMP Muhammadiyah 9 Junior High of Sugio Lamongan. The research was done to students in grade VII-A consisted of 32 students. Data collection method used students observation sheet. Data analysis for problem solving used level percentage of students activity, while study result analyzed using students study completeness. Research showed that students in applying TPS type with PBMP pattern could increase study activity, there seen students activity in cycle I was 56,8% (average) and in cycle II was 66.4% (good), so that there was increasing for 9.6%. Percentage of students study completeness in classical in cycle I was 68,7% (average) and in cycle II was 90,6% (very good) so that there was 21,9% progress. According to the finding, the writer concluded that TPS type application with PBMP pattern could increase students activity and study result.
