Abstract

Relationship between Education Levels and Level of Knowledge on the Use of Antibiotics Without Prescription. Thesis, Medical Faculty of Muhammadiyah Malang University. Preceptor: (1) Febri Endra Budi Setyawan* (2) Anung Putri Illahika** Background: Antibiotics is a very widely known drug and are classified as drugs that are widely used by the public, thus giving rise to the act of using antibiotics. The most common form of antibiotic abuse is self-medication (self-medication) in the form of the use of antibiotics without a prescription by various groups of society including students. Antibiotics usage without doctor prescription will impact the incidence of antibiotics resistance and irrational usage of antibiotics. Purpose: This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of education and the level of knowledge of the community towards the use of antibiotics without a prescription in the community City of Batu. Methods: This study was observational analytic with a cross sectional approach. The selected amount of the sample in this study is 100 respondents in Tlekung village, City of Batu, selected using cluster random sampling technique. The analysis test used Sommers' D test. Result: Sommers' D test results show that there is a significant correlation between the level of education and the level of antibiotic knowledge without a prescription in the community of Tlekung Village with a value of p = 0.00 (p <0.05). Conclusions: There is a significant relationship between education level and level of knowledge on the use of antibiotics without a doctor's prescription. Keywords: Antibiotics, Antibiotics Usage.
