Abstract

This research aims to investigate the student perceptions in ELED on learning English in ESP program. Perception is an interpretation and response from the stimulus by using five senses. The response of the stimulus can be opinion, action, and rejection. It will influence the behavior, attitudes, responses and motivations they have. From these responses, we can know whether the learning process can be success or failure In this study, the researcher used descriptive design to describe the perception of student in ELED on learning English in the ESP program. The researcher used convenience sampling to find the participants. The number of participant in this study were 63 students. The researcher used close-ended questionnaire which consist of 10 questions. The questionnaire had 3 categories of the student perception in ESP program such as students perception of learning English in ESP program, student perception on the way the student learned, and student perception on the resource availability. The result of this research showed that students have positive perceptions in learning English at ESP class. It was proven that 73.01% students answered with positive response like ESP class help them to practice English well and make them easier to understanding the materials based on their learn.
