Abstract

Phylum Mollusca is a group of invertebrate animals known as soft-bodied animals and most secrete hard protective shells made from calcium carbonate. Gayam Beach, Sapudi Island, Sumenep Regency, is in a clear water, 75% of which consist of muddy sand and natural rocks. In addition, the use of natural resources around it is very rare done in learning. This study aims to determine the diversity of Mollusca species and the pattern of propagation of Mollsca found in the tidal area of the Gayam Beach of Sapudi Island, Sumenep Regency, which is used as a source of learning biology. The type of this research is descriptive research. This research was conducted on 7th September 2018 at the lowest low tide during the day using the quadratic transect method. The results showed that the mollusca was found consisted of 10 types namely Canariumerythrinum Dillwyn, Canarium labiatum Roding, Lyncina vitellus L, Polynicesalbumen L, Trochusmaculatus L, Vexillum Sp, Ostreaedulis L, Atrinavexillum Born, Anadaraantiquata L, and Cerastoderma Edule. The ecological parameters of the Mollusca type are; (1) the density ranges between 4,055 / m2-0,444 / m2, (2) the frequency ranges between 0,555 / m2-0,055 / m2. (3) the highest value index of Canariuerythrinum Dillwyn species is 0.478 and the lowest Ostreaedulis type is only 0.14. the index value of the variety of types (H ') 30.92 or the category of high wealth and the value of evennes (E) 1,072 which means the community tends to be evenly distributed. Morisita Index (IM) values between 1.013-1.04 or IM values> 1 indicate the pattern of the distribution of all types of clumped Molluscs. The results of the study are expected to be used as a learning resource for high school / MA biology in the form of a Pocket Book.
