Abstract

Education is an important factor for creating a generation that is good and broad-minded. Schools become a means for children to receive education. Inside a school has important components that influence each other, including the principal, teachers, students and other school residents. The environment in the school raises social interactions among the residents of the school. Sumbersari 2 Malang Elementary School implements inclusive classes that allow students with special needs to interact and study with regular students. This study aims to describe the social interaction of slow learner children with regular students in SDN Sumbersari 02 Malang. This study uses a qualitative approach and the type of research used is descriptive research. Research subject of a 6th grade student SDN Sumbersari 02 Malang who experience slow learning or slow learner with the initials Ye. The object of this study is the social interaction of slow learner students with regular students. Data collection techniques used are Observation, Interview and Documentation. Furthermore, research techniques were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results show that Ye is a student who is slow learner or sluggish learning who has obstacles in social interaction with regular students. This can be seen from the two obstacles that Ye has. First, Ye lacks confidence in communicating with other regular students and often withdraws from the environment. Both Ye had difficulty working together, in discussions and division of tasks, Ye can't do it well and tends to do other activities. The efforts of the class teacher and special tutor teacher to improve the ability of social interaction of slow learner children is to use, 1) Individual learning models, 2) Remedial and repetition of material, 3) Gradual instructions are given, and 4) Evaluation with simplification of sentences.
