Abstract

The ability to teach the operation of arithmetic concept based on indicators achievement of understanding the concept of operation of arithmetic and preparing lesson plan. This study aims to (1) describe the understanding of the operation of arithmetic concept of PGSD students of UMM, (2) describe the preparation of lesson plan, and (3) describe how to teach the concept of operation of arithmetic students PGSD UMM. This research was using qualitative research. Research subjects totaling 212 students PGSD especially in sixth semester academic year 2018/2019. Then, the data obtained from the written test results understanding of the concept of arithmetic operation, interviews, and documentation and descriptive qualitative analyze. The deriving results showed that (1) the ability stated the Act of a concept as much as 38,20% and 49,05% mention example of the concept by category was. Ability to use, use and choose the procedure 71,02% within high category and the ability to mention not example 6,13% have category low. (2) average in the planning learning obtained students high category achieve 88,46 smaller than 96,15% average obtained students category was and is greater than the average obtained students category low i.e. 76,98%. (3) the students within high category, medium and low there were still wrong in teach the concept of multiplication and division. Only some of the students in low category still wrong in teaching the concept of combined arithmetic operation. All of the students can teach alternative way to calculate the operation of arithmetic, able to deliver the benefits of studying operation count subject by linking premises problems that exist in everyday life.
