Abstract

In catfish cultivation there is a traditional cultivation system that is simple cultivation that utilizes natural feed in the pond, but in this culture it has a weakness of low stocking density and often makes new water changes to replace lost water due to evaporation and seepage. In this way of management, aquaculture productivity and water quality are low, which is an obstacle for catfish farmers. This research was carried out by maintaining sangkuriang catfish seeds in round ponds with a diameter of 2 m2 with a density of 2000 tails per pond. The sangkuriang catfish seeds that have been kept have reached a length of 4 cm and are treated with 2 different treatments between fermented and non-fermented ponds. This research was carried out for 55 days from 16 July to 10 September 2018, at the Fisheries Laboratory of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang, East Java. The research method used is an experimental method with this research conducted using descriptive methods with 2 different treatments between fermented and non-fermented ponds. Water quality management is carried out every 3 days with measurements of water quality including temperature, pH, and DO. Whereas for measuring ammonia and nitrate in each pond that is different feed, it takes 1 time for 2 weeks. The results of this study indicate that the Study of Water Quality of Sangkuriang Catfish (Clarias sp.) Cultivation of Biona System Feeded by Fementation and Non Fermentation . The water quality of the Biona catfish system which is given fermented feed produces a temperature value (24.1 ), pH (8.01), DO (7.09 mg / L), Ammonia (0.13 mg / L), Nitrate (0.13 mg / L) measured in the morning, afternoon and evening, on water quality Biona system catfish farming given fermented feed produces a temperature value (24.10 ), pH (8.03), DO (7.33 mg / L), Ammonia (0.19 mg / L), Nitrate (0.15 mg / L) measured in the morning, afternoon and evening. It can be concluded that the measurement of good water quality parameters is a pond given fermented feed, because the water quality meets the Indonesian National Standard of catfish cultivation on an enlargement scale.
