Abstract

Literacy is ability in reading, writing, talking, and problem solving to open the knowledge and insight of student. Student which has a good literacy ability can develop them self maximally especially in literacy. However, based on text of ministry of education and culture “literacy system in Indonesia is still far from expectations”. Science literacy is some of the basic literacy which has to be capable for every student. Science literacy tells about the knowledge especially nature and everything which has connection with living things, those are increase an interest of student to read science book. To reise ability of student in science literacy. Process of science literacy is running well from basic. Therefore this research tells about implementation of science literacy in fourth (4th) elementary school students. This research head to know : (1) implementation of science literacy in fourth grade at SDN Pandanwangi 3 Malang, (2) to know the supporting factors while implementing science literacy in fourth grade students at SDN Pandanwangi 3 Malang, (3) to know obstacle factors while implementing science literascy in fourth grade students at SDN Pandanwangi 3 Malang. This is a qualitative research and explained by descriptive text. And to know tehe resources from head master, homeroom teacher, and students. This research was done on February 2019. The result of this research indicates: (1) the implementation of science literacy has been running well, (2) there are many factors to support this science literacy program (parents, teachers, students, and head master) and all facilities which can be used for all the students among them (library, reading,corner, and many of literacy books), and the last is (3) the obstacle when doing science literacy is lack of parents supportwhile doing activities
