Abstract

Pollution caused by insecticides with the residue left in our physical or biotical environment will indirectly cause acute or chronic poisoning that has a long impact for the society. It triggers pollution in cabbage crop lands so it is affecting the number of soil fauna found on the location this research took place. The research objectives are to know the diversity index and importance value index of soil mesofauna and soil macrofauna found in cabbage crop lands containing inorganic insecticides at Wonorejo village. This research used quantitative approach and it was a descriptive research. The sampling technique used in this research was Simple Random Sampling technique. There were two steps in collecting the data which were using Hand Sorting Method by determining 15 different plots in each crop land and pitfall trap method by setting up traps containing 4% formalin, then the data obtained would be identified and analyzed. The results of the research conducted in Brassica oleracea L. crop lands containing organic and inorganic insecticides at Wonorejo village, Malang, showed that the kinds of soil mesofauna and soil macrofauna found were consisted of 8 Ordos namely Hymenoptera, Coleoptera, Diptera, Trombidiformes, Orthoptera, Araneae, Hemiptera, Diplura and 10 families namely family of Formicidae, Staphylinidae, Stratiomyidae, Tetranychidae, Acrididae, Salticidae, Coreidae, Chrysomelidae, Carabidae, Projapygidae. In this research the most found family was Formicidae (black ants).
