Abstract

An important aspect of the education process is to build the character of students. Character as a standard or norm and system of values implemented in various forms of self quality. The values taught in education should be the basis of the school curriculum which aims to develop continuously and systematically. This study aims to determine: (1) the implementation of tapak suci extracurricular learning as character education in Muhammadiyah 08 Dau Elementary School, (2) the value of characters that appear in tapak suci extracurricular sites in Muhammadiyah 08 Dau Primary School, and (3) obstacles to extracurricular implementation in Muhammadiyah 08 Elementary School Dau. This research uses qualitative descriptive research, because to describe the results of observation and the results of interviews with resource persons. As a source of data in this study are principals, extracurricular teachers and students who take extracurricular. The procedures in this study are: (1) the preparation stage, (2) the planning phase, (3) the implementation phase, and (4) the evaluation phase. The results of this study indicate (1) the implementation of extracurricular learning site has run smoothly with the support of various parties and has been integrated with character education, (2) the value of the characters that appear in the extracurricular are religious values, nationalist, independent, mutual cooperation and integrity, (3) obstacles faced by students lack of discipline and lack of facilities and infrastructure.
