Abstract

The planning of Micro-hydro Power Plant (PLTMH) utilizes water resources of Andeman which aims at developing renewable energy to supply electrical needs in Boonpring Ecotourism, Sanankerto Village, Turen District. The planning of PLTMH comprises civil building construction and mechanical component. The planning stages are (1) generator discharge analysis; (2) calculation of generator power; (3) civil building design; and (4) turbine type planning. The design of building components covers open channel, forebay, penstock, house of the generator, and tailrace. Meanwhile, the turbine type planning consists of a generator, effective falling height, generator power, specific speed, and turbine runner planning. The results of the survey showed that generator discharge design (Q) used is 0.5075 m3/sec and (Heff) effective falling height (J is 2.31 meters. The type of turbine applies cross flow with the synchronous generator 1 phase which produces generator power (P) 8.256 kW. The dimensions of open channel are width 0.8 m and height 0.8 m, forebay capacity 13.2 m3, penstock using HDPE type with diameter 500 mm, house plan of generator 12.25 m2, and tailrace dimension 0.8 m. Turbine runner has diameter 385 mm and length 210 mm with 21 corners and specific speed 156.56.
