Abstract

Background: The characteristics of the peel-off mask are influenced by the base. Peel-off mask containing Tea Tree Oil and Niacinamide which have antibacterial activity made using different levels of pva base Objective: To determine the effect of variations in PVA levels on the physical properties of chemical properties (pH); (organoleptic, viscosity, drying time and dispersion); Aseptability and stability of the preparation of a mask peel-off combination of Tea Tree Oil and Niacinamide. Method: Peel-off Mask combination of Tea Tree Oil and Niacinamide formulated into 4 formulas pee-off mask with concentrations of Polyvinyl Alcohol 5%, 10%, and 15%. Test of physical characteristics of the preparations observed descriptively in the form of an emulsion, organoleptic, homogeneity, and stability. Testing of pH, viscosity, dispersion power was analyzed by One-Way Anova statistical test. Result and Conclusion: The preparation of peel-off mask combination Tea Tree Oil and Niacinamide has M/A emulsion type, soft and homogeneous texture, aromatic smell (typical of Tea Tree Oil), and has a white color. From the results of One-Way Anova analysis, it was found that there were no significant differences for Ph in the range 7.22-6.45, viscosity in the range 3,099-159,444cPs, spreadability in the range 0.0842-0.0787 g / cm. The stability of the preparations for the combination of Tea Tree Oil and Niacinamide peel-off Mask is stable because there is no separation.
