Abstract

The development of teaching materials in the form of Student Worksheet (LKS) is the practice of producing text or learning material that applies a basis or method. Student Worksheet (LKS) used by junior high school teachers in Malang is considered to have limited information, which is project-based that has the same form of practice. So, it is not focused. As linguistic aspects become an important component in Indonesian Language to support students’ skills in speaking and writing. This study aims to (1) develop effective Student Worksheet (LKS) teaching material products in linguistic intelligence based text language material for IX grade junior high school students, and (2) describe the level of readability of the training in the LKS product of the linguistic intelligence based critical language text material that had been tested. This study uses a research development approach. The research model is Research & Development Borg and Gall. The limited test was carried out in class IX.4 of Junior High School 3 Malang. Field tests were carried out in class IX.B of Junior High School 18 Malang and IX.1 of Junior High School 21 Malang. The product validation phase involved three people, namely one teaching material development expert and two Indonesian middle school practitioners/teachers. Data in this development research are numerical and qualitative data. The results of the study show the following: (1) the product of the development of worksheets is related to the validation data from experts and practitioners who show proper values on content, language, presentation, and layout so that they can be implemented. The results of data analysis from the expert developer of Indonesian language teaching materials’ questionnaire got a percentage of 71.56%, meaning that the product is quite feasible and needs to be revised so that it can be tested. Analysis of data from the practitioners or Indonesian language teachers at Junior High School 18 Malang gets a percentage of 84.13%, meaning that the product is feasible and can be implemented, practitioners or Indonesian Language teachers of Junior High School 21 Malang get a percentage of 95.19% which means the product is feasible and can be implemented. Analysis of data from class IX.B of Junior High School 18 Malang gets a percentage of 73.61%, meaning the product is quite feasible and needs to be revised, from class IX.1 students of Junior High School 21 Malang got a percentage of 91.67% which means it is feasible and can be implemented. (2) the results of the level of readability of the Student Worksheet (LKS) text in the usage test I shows the average in class IX.B Junior High School 18 Malang at 47.66 which means instructional students in understanding the contents of the text, while in the second usage trial after revision of product I, the average level of readability of Worksheet (LKS) text in class IX.1 Junior High School 21 Malang was 60.85 which means that independent students have good ability in understanding the contents of the text.
