Abstract

Indonesia is known as one of the source of medicinal plants simplicia that can be used to overcome various diseases. Treatment which is done by some people in dealing with a disease either internal or external disease, is by applying the natural medicine because it is considered to have fewer side effects than synthetic drugs. Hence, it is necessary to apply herbal plants that have healing effect in treating external diseases such as wounds. One plant that has the the ability to heal a wound is Maja Plant (Aegle marmelos Linn). This plant contains flavonoids, tannins, alkaloids, terpenoids and saponins that can accelerate the healing process of cuts. The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of maja leaf extract (Aegle marmelos Linn) to heal the wound of white rat, to examine the concentration of maja leaf extract (Aegle marmelos Linn) in which the most effective one in accelerating wound healing process in white rats, and as a source of learning biology. The type of this research is the real experiment (True Experimental Research). The research design was using Non-Factorial Complete Random Design (RAL), with concentrations of 10%, 30%, 50%, and 80%. Data in the form of wound closure, length of erythema (redness), duration of edema loss (swelling), duration of new tissue formation process and duration of wound healing process in white rats on numerical scale. The data analysis technique used is One Way ANAVA. The results showed significantly (p <0.05), which means there is the effect of maja leaf extract concentration (Aegle marmelos Linn) on the healing process of cuts on white rats. Effect of maja leaf extract is the most effective in 10% concentration with an average closure of the incision wounds 1.38 cm / day.
