Abstract

In this research will discuss how the control performed on three phase induction motor in order to have good efficiency and optimal when used. Induction motor speed control by using vector control method to be presented with Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller. Then on the PID controller will be optimized by Flower Pollination Algorithm (FPA). The source of induction motor voltage used is from Cascaded H-Bridge (CHB) Multilevel Inverter with 5-level. Use of In-Phase Disposition (IPD) techniques as a switching of multilevel inverter, in which all carrier signals have the same phase angle. The control method in vector control is based on the working principle of Field-Oriented Control (FOC), as the regulator of voltage source in the form of amplitude and frequency regulation in controlling the speed of three-phase induction motor through multilevel inverter. From result the simulation is obtained with PID-FPA control that is the optimum parameter value kp of 1.0365, ki of 1.0021, and kd of 0. And found the rise time value of 0.1043 seconds, overshoot of 0.2%, peak speed of 1002 rpm, peak time of 0.3779 seconds, and settling time of 1.3580 seconds.
