Abstract

Krib building aims at controlling the flow direction, slowing the flow at river turn, and protecting the river cliffs from water hit. The river has with many turns will be easily destroyed by the water. Hence, the presence of the Krib is expected to reduce the damage to the bend area. The data were analyzed by means of HEC-RAS Software (Hydrologic Engineering Center River Analysis System) with 1 dimension flow model to examine the river flow patterns. HEC-RAS is system software that used for analyzing the variety of hydraulics. The software could display the calculation of one dimension water face for an inner channel in both natural and artificial channels. The object of the study was conducted in the floodway of Bagong River in Trenggalek Regency. The data analysis showed that after inserting n value, Manning = 0.025, the maximum speed of water is 6.23 m/sec and minimum speed of water is 1.24 m/sec. The minimum speed is greater than critical grain D50 = 0.0145 m/sec. according to the analysis, the Krib is planned with the height = river width x 10%, distance between Krib = 1.8 x Krib height, and the angle used is 15o.
