Abstract
Background: Elderly or often referred to as senescence is a period of life characterized by changes or decreases in body functions, usually starting at different ages for different individuals. Hypertension is "a silent killer" and is undoubtedly contributing to heart disease and brain disorders. The measuring instrument used for measuring blood pressure is the Sphygmomanometer. Research Method: This study is a quasi experimental study using a non-equivalent design group consisting of two groups, namely the treatment group and the control group involving 60 respondents. Results: the results of statistical analysis using the Mann Whiteney U Test was 0.000 (p <0.05). It can be concluded that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected, which means that the elderly in Besuki village have a combination of senior elastic band and chair exercise on blood pressure reduction. Conclusion: There is an effect of combining senior elastic bands and chair exercises on decreasing blood pressure in the elderly in Besuki Village.
