Abstract

Internalization is a process to embed values implemented continuously. Embedding character education values cannot be implemented in only several times, yet, it should be conducted continuously to achieve students’ personality. An activity including character education is school literation. In this program, students are getting used to read and write to widen their knowledge and are able to compete in global era, but they still have personality and noble character. This study has three purposes. First, its purposes is to (1) describe the implementation of internalization of character education values in school literation for students in initial class in SD Anak Saleh, while the second is to (2) describe character education values in school literation for students in initial class in SD Anak Saleh. The third purposes is to (3) describe the obstacles and efforts in implementing internalization of character education values in school literation for students in initial class. It is descriptive qualitative study, which is describing and interpreting object based on the real condition. Instrument of this study is the researcher. Data collection of this study conducted by observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis was data reduction, data presentation and deduction. Result of the study shows that (1) the implementation of internalization of character education values in school literation for students in initial class was conducted in three stages; habituation, development and learning, and adaptation with ability or students’ grade. The second result is (2) discipline, like to read and write, confidence, independent, responsible, appreciate achievement, curiousity, creative, care, and religious. (3) Obstacle in internalizing character education values is time, condition where the teachers are less knowledge on the program, and efforts by school, which is conducting stage contest expression, and using fun teaching strategy. Result of this study, it is suggested to the school to have evaluation and literation training for teachers. Moreover, the school is also suggested to have 15 minutes reading before teaching and learning process to improve students’ literation and it is expected to be able to manage time as good as possible for all program run effectively and maximum.
