Abstract

The Professional teachers need to package and design learning as well as possible so students are more active in receiving learning. Teacher competency is a combination of personal, scientific, technological, social and spiritual abilities that thoroughly shapes teacher competence. This research uses a mix method approach (a combination of qualitative methods with quantitative methods) with a type of case study research. Data questionnaire techniques, interviews, documentation and observation. His informants were principals and thirty teachers who were used as primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques for data reduction, data presentation, conclusion and data validity. The location of the study was at SMPN 1 Hu'u, Dompu Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. The results of the study indicate that: 1) Level of achievement of the pedagogic competence and professional competence of the Hu'u 1 Junior High School teacher is sufficient and sufficient conditions are said to be professional teachers. This is indicated by the percentage of achievement in the competency which is between 80-22% for pedagogical competence and 85-33% for Professional competence. 2) constraints faced by the diversity of teachers' abilities in the learning process and mastery of knowledge, Many GTT teachers who have long taught at Hu'u 1 Public Middle School have not yet obtained NUPTK to reach professional teachers, students who have little understanding of what the teacher is saying. 3) Efforts taken to improve competence are teacher development training conducted every weekend by bringing in tutors from outside the region such as KKG, MGMP activities but the achievement has not been fully maximized. This analysis has an impact on the quality and quantity of teachers who are professional in educating the nation's children in fostering good character, morals and morals in order to achieve quality education.
