Abstract

The results of the initial needs analysis that were conducted by SD Islam Mohammad Hatta shows in the learning process the teacher used the lecture method also question and answer method, for the use of medias that used by teacher are only in the form of pictures and videos if available. In thematic learning, especially theme 4, the students do not really understand the material that has been delivered by the teacher. Based on the existing problems, the research entitled "The Development of kotejan media (work-type paste boxes) in the thematic learning theme 4 4th Grade" is new and important to be implemented. The research aims to develop learning media which include in criteria such as valid, complete and interesting. This research and development is use the ADDIE development model). Where in this development model there are 5 stages which include: Analysis, Design, development, Implementation, and Evaluation. While the data collection techniques that used in this study were observation, interviews, questionnaires, documentation and tests. The data analysis technique in this study is in the form of quantitative data and qualitative data which to valid, effective, and attractive. This research was conducted at Mohammad Hatta Islamic Elementary School class IV-C in Malang City. The results of the research showed a percentage of media assessment validation test which equal to 94% with very valid and good qualification criteria to be used. While the validation of material experts gets a percentage of 90% with very valid criteria. The results of complete are taken from student learning outcomes which shows an average percentage of 89% with very complete criteria. The results of attractiveness are taken from the user response questionnaires which shows an average value of 85% with interesting criteria. The conclusion is that the development of text media in thematic learning theme 4 4th Grade was valid, complete and interesting to use in the learning process. In this study, suggests that the media which has been developed can be used as learning media for theme 4 learning 1,2 and 3 4th grade
