Abstract

Today more widespread disclosure of the case online prostitution in Indonesia, particularly prostitution are acted by public figures. Without us knowing this phenomenon has always existed and could not be stopped appearance. Online prostitution problem in this society appears supported by the rapid development of information and technology. The link between prostitution online with the technology that is media marketing. The prostitutes use instant messenger or social media to market their services. One instant messenger that is used to transact prostitution is WeChat. How interpersonal communication in the transactions carried out by the perpetrators of this WeChat media. Based on the theoretical concepts used, namely the Inter-Personal Communication within the meaning and characteristics. Studied further with transactional communication using social exchange theory, the theory of inter-personal needs (FIRO - Fundamental Interpersonal Relations orientations), the need for affection and Johari window theory that there are four areas, namely open, blind fields, hidden fields and fields of the unknown. The case study method in research and descriptive qualitative approach, using online research subjects WeChat prostitutes or sex workers who market their services through this instant messenger, followed by a case study on online prostitution as well as observation, interviews and documentation in the form of data capture chat subject of research. The focus of research refers to the notion refers to the inter-personal communication and theories that have been advanced researchers. It was found that interpersonal communication in online prostitution transaction WeChat, there are only two actors, namely the customer as a communicator and a sex offender prostitution as a communicant. Communication both fulfill within the meaning and characteristics of interpersonal communication. Social exchange theory is clearly seen in the study, because the profits are interchangeable. Interpersonal needs for affection researchers also found, as there is a psychological satisfaction and intimacy in terms of prostitution. From the Johari window theory, the customer himself is in a hidden field, because aware of the activities and not known to others, while prostitutes online sex workers are in the open field, the perpetrators are aware of the activities and to be known by others.
