Abstract

A mathematics subject is one of the subjects that must be studied at the elementary level. It because mathematics subject contain links about knowledge of daily activity, so that mathematics an absolute science to be learned early. In fact, mathematics subject is considered very difficult, so students' interest in this subjectis very low. Hence, teacher must be creative and innovative in teaching mathematics subject, one of which is integer’s addition material. Therefore, it needs to be a change in learning facilities and infrastructure such as the use of learning media, namely ethnomatic-based monopoly media. The researcher conducted this studyusing Research and Development (R&D) or referred to as development research. This study used the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages, namely analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Besides, some of experts validated the ethnomatic-based monopoly media. They are one media expert, one material expert, one practitioner, and 25 students responded. The result of this study indicates that the use of media can facilitate students in understanding integer’s addition material. It evidenced by the results of the validation of experts including, media experts 96%, 87.5% material experts, and 98% practitioner experts. While, the result of ethnomatic-based monopoly media trial got a percentage of feasibility student is 98% and the average score of student is 90. Based on data analysis, it shown that the media was developed were suitable for use in the learning process.
