Abstract

Dam constructing is one of utilization forms of water resource. A proper dam is equipped with spillway to take care of excessing water flow. At the Tugu Dam, the spillway is designed as side-spillway that has a bended transition channel. The bended channel will result in irregular water flow. The landslides occurrence in surrounding of abundant lighthouse is adding dangerous to the worker. This alternative study aims at reducing the above mentioned risks. By relocating the abundant lighthouse of spillway and changing the transition path, it can reduce the risk. With the transfer of the abundant lighthouse the type of spillway will also turn into a direct spill. This also affects the transition channel lines and launchers that change as well. From the calculation results, the dimensions of the spillway are 4 m wide, the upstream height is 5 m and the height falls downstream of 6 m. And for the transition channel, the length is 47.5 m and the channel height is 4.75 m with the upstream width of 24 m and the downstream width of 19.25 m. Whereas the transition channel has a length of 300 m, height 60.25 m and channel width of 19.25 m.
