Abstract

Problems found in the field, which occur to students appear when classroom learning activities take place. During the learning process, students are less able to be active in classroom learning independently. Students are more dependent on the teacher to do the assignments given by the teacher, but not all students experience difficulties like that. The researcher was informed that the conditions in the field had already used the inquiry learning model but in the process, the teacher used inquiry after seeing the condition of the students in the class before the learning process began not because it had been included in the previous lesson plan The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research, because the data collected is in the form of words, images, but not numbers. The researcher wanted to see directly without giving treatment related to science learning using inquiry learning models. Data collected in the form of the results of interviews with class V teachers. The technique of collecting data in the form of interview techniques, observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques performed are data collection, data reduction, data presentation and data verification. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded that the science learning process uses a model of inquiry in fifth grade students at Punten 2 BATU SDN 2018/2019 school year, the learning is done by reading reading activities in each student's booklet of course which is in accordance with the material that will be taught on that day. Conduct a question and answer process regarding the material discussed, namely about the digestive organs of humans and animals. Work on tasks given by the teacher after which they present the results of the assignments in front of the class. After that the teacher reinforces the material from the results of the answers to the assignments of students about the material of human and animal digestive organs. Then reflect to find out that the students really understand the material that has just been taught from beginning to end. The inquiry learning model can attract the confidence of each student to dare to express their opinions by raising their hands before answering questions from the teacher. Some of the students also responded unceasingly, from there it was seen that the learning interest of students in the class could be stimulated by using the inquiry model, students also seemed to understand easily the material presented by the teacher.
