Abstract

Increasingly intense competition has resulted in companies having to find employees who have innovative behavior. Innovative behavior is the behavior of individuals in thinking about applying new ideas that are useful for improving the quality of their work. Innovative behavior can be influenced by positive and negative behavior. One of the negative behaviors is counterproductive work behavior (CWB). CWB is a behavior which is done by employees with the aim of harming work colleagues and organizations themselves by doing deviant activities that hinder performance like feeling lazy in doing work, not wanting improvement, and deliberately slow at work. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of counterproductive work behavior on innovative behavior. The method in this study uses quantitative. Subjects in this study are taken using incidental sampling techniques. Data analysis in this study uses simple linear regression. The results showed that there was a influence on counterproductive work behavior on innovative behavior with a p value of 0.003 <0.05, R2 of 0.078 and the value of B was -0.142 which means that there was a negative influence counterproductive work behavior towards innovative behavior.
