Abstract

Mojokerto regency is one of regencies where many economic activities are done. It, thus, impacts on the high density of traffic which makes traffic jam is often occurred. With these problems there is a need for analysis the performance of Niaga Mojosari road due to parking lot on the roads. The method used and analyzed is Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia / MKJI) 1997, the sample selection uses Non Probability Sampling method and the technique uses Accidental Sampling. After being researched and surveys on the road, obtained result for the parking area is 400 m2 for motorcycle and 160 m2 for car, for the volume of parking vehicles during peak hours there are 695 motorcycles and 58 cars an hours, for the average parking duration is 39,3 minutes for motorcycle and 43,2 minutes for car. Traffic flow at peak hours is 2817 vehicles/hour or 791,25 smp/hour. This road is included in the class of high side barriers. Free current speed is 23,99 km/hour and the road capacity is obtained 1110,89 smp/hour. Degree of saturation on this road is 0,71 and it can be concluded that the road section is still safe or still meets the requirements of MKJI 1997 (DS≤0,8). Furthermore, the writer tries to give an alternative problem solving which might be useful to solve the problems of the road.
