Abstract

Tomato plants are horticultural products whose demand in Indonesia is quite high. the factor of low productivity of tomatoes is caused by the provision of fertilizers and the use of varieties that are not suitable. The use of chemical fertilizers provides good results, however, in the long term it can damage the ecosystem. Alternatives that can be done to overcome this problem by giving chitosan liquid organic fertilizer with appropriate concentration and use of appropriate varieties. This research aims to: (1) Determine the interaction between the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer and tomato plant varieties; (2) Knowing the effect of the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer on tomato plants; (3) Knowing the effect of varieties on tomato plants. This research used the Factorial Randomized Group Design method. The first factor was the variety of Permata, Timoty and Servo tomato plants. The second factor is the difference in concentration of liquid organic fertilizer chitosan 0 ppm (control), 20 ppm, 40 ppm, 60 ppm, 80 ppm, and 100 ppm. The results showed: (1) There was a very real interaction between POC concentrations and varieties only on the intensity of TYLCV disease; (2) There was a very significant influence on the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer on the intensity of bemicia tabaci and TYLCV on tomato plants; (3) There was a very significant difference in response from 3 tomato varieties to plant height, leaf area, total fruit weight, lots of fruit and the intensity of TYLCV disease.
