Abstract

Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is important cereal plant in carbohydrate needs and used as basic foods Indonesian people. Increased paddy production can be done by development by genetic resource in mutation way by gamma radiation. The objective of this research was carried to get information of effect gamma radiation dose on performance mutant M1 generation from MSP 13 with cluster analysis on vegetative and generative performance. This research was conducted in 2018 at Malang, East Java used Randomized Complete Design (RCD) for germination test and Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) to field activity with 6 dose of gamma radiation, there are control (No radiation), 100 Gy, 200 Gy, 300 Gy, 400 Gy, dan 500 Gy. The variable of observation are germination phase (germination and growth speed), vegetative phase (number of tillers, plant height, number of leaf and leaf color), generative phase (Flowering age and harvest age), yield component (number of panicle and panicle length) and yield (number of grain, dry grin weight, dry rice grain weight, empty dry grain weight and weight of 100’s grain). Gamma radiation dose gave an effect reall significant to all parameter except leaf color. Radiation dose 100-500 Gy have impact reducing germination speed and growing speed than control. Radiation dose 200-500 Gy have impact of character change plant height be short than control. Radiation dose 300-500 Gy have impact on increasing of flowering age, reducing number of grain and reducing weig of grain than dose of 100-200 Gy and control. Cluster analysis based on vegetative and generative characters obtained similarities of 89.34% between 300Gy and 400Gy mutants; 87.30% between 100Gy and 200Gy; 72.94 between controls with 100-200Gy mutants, and 0% similarity between 500Gy mutants with 0-400Gy.
