Abstract

This study aims to determine the acceptability and know the most accepted by consumers (female students, housewives, and career women) on the quality of the design, the quality of the skin, and the quality of the products of leather carving wallet. Direct survey research method with data collection techniques through questionnaires. Respondents numbered 90 people based on sampling by purposive sampling which was divided into 30 students, 30 career women, and 30 housewives who aimed to determine consideration in deciding to buy a carved leather wallet product. Data obtained from the survey were analyzed using the Kruskal Wallis test with three categories, namely female students, housewives, and career women. If there are results of data that are significantly different then further tests are carried out using the Whitney U Test. The results of the wallet design quality data analysis using the kruskal wallis test obtained a significance value of 0.891> 0.05. Then there is no difference in consumer preferences between female students, housewives, and career women towards the quality of design. The results of data analysis on leather wallet quality obtained a significance value of 0.104> 0.05. Then there is no difference in consumer preferences between female students, housewives, and career women on the quality of leather. The results of the analysis of wallet stitch quality obtained a significance value of 0.140> 0.05. Then there is no difference in consumer preferences between female students, housewives, and career women on the quality of stitches. The conclusion of this study is that wallet products made from carved leather can be accepted by female students, housewives, and career women in terms of design quality, leather quality, and stitch quality.
